This coming weekend, the sixth round of the FIM Supersport World Championship will take place at MotorLand Aragón. After a strong weekend at Autodrom Most, Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing is looking forward to racing at the Spanish circuit and continuing its good form.
The 5.08-kilometer MotorLand Aragón circuit has been a fixture on the World Superbike calendar for many years and has rightfully become a permanent venue. With ten left-hand corners, seven right-hand corners, a straight of nearly one kilometer, and significant elevation changes, this modern circuit offers virtually everything expected from a challenging racetrack.
After securing his fifth consecutive podium finish in Most and reducing his deficit to the championship leader, Can Öncü’s goal this weekend will be to extend that streak. The Turkish rider has come close to claiming his first victory of the season on several occasions, and that is exactly what he and the team will be aiming for.
Yuki Okamoto scored his first World Championship points of the season in the Czech Republic and showed clear progress throughout the weekend. The Japanese rider is becoming increasingly comfortable on the Yamaha R9 and will once again focus on closing the gap to the fastest riders this weekend.

At home we have had some really nice weather so we were able to train a lot. Let’s see what the weekend at Aragón will bring. The race weekend at Autodrom Most starts with a free practice session on Friday morning, followed by the Superpole session at 13:55 in the afternoon. After a warm-up session on Saturday morning, Race 1 will already get underway at 12:30. On Sunday, the usual schedule will be followed, with a morning warm-up session and Race 2 at 14:00.
Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing wil succesvolle reeks voortzetten op Motorland Aragón
Aankomend weekend wordt de zesde ronde van het FIM Supersport World Championship verreden op Motorland Aragón. Na een sterk weekend op het Autodrom Most kijkt Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing uit naar het raceweekend op het Spaanse circuit om daar de goede vorm voort te zetten.
Het 5,08 kilometer lange Motorland Aragón staat inmiddels al weer lange tijd op de World Superbike kalender en is geheel terecht een vaste waarde geworden. Met tien linkerbochten, zeven rechterbochten, een recht stuk van bijna een kilometer en flink wat hoogteverschil biedt dit moderne circuit vrijwel alles wat er van een uitdagend circuit verwacht wordt.
Nadat hij in Most zijn vijfde podiumfinish op rij behaalde en zijn achterstand op de WK-leider wist te verkleinen zal het doel voor Can Öncü dit weekend zijn om die reeks voort te zetten. De Turkse coureur was meerdere keren dichtbij zijn eerste overwinning van het seizoen, en dat zal dan ook hetgeen zijn waar hij en het team op azen.
Yuki Okamoto scoorde in Tsjechië zijn eerste WK-punten van dit seizoen en liet gedurende het weekend duidelijke progressie zien. De Japanner weet de Yamaha R9 steeds meer eigen te maken en zal dit weekend wederom als doelstelling hebben om het gat naar de snelste coureurs verder te verkleinen.

“Ik kijk uit naar dit raceweekend. Ik ben erg enthousiast en gemotiveerd, omdat onze laatste paar races goed zijn verlopen en we ons in de juiste richting ontwikkelen. Thuis hebben we de laatste tijd prachtig weer gehad, waardoor we veel hebben kunnen trainen. We zullen zien wat het weekend in Aragón ons brengt. Het raceweekend op het Autodrom Most begint met een vrije training op vrijdagochtend waarna ’s middags om 13:55 uur de Superpole sessie van start gaat. Na een warm-up sessie op zaterdagochtend wordt ’s middags al om 12:30 uur de eerste race van het weekend verreden. Op zondag wordt het gebruikelijke programma gehanteerd met een warm-up sessie in de ochtend en Race 2 om 14:00 uur.
